This year we have introduced Christmas movies into our Advent Calendar. Elianna is old enough to start appreciating some of them. For our first movie night, we decided on A Charlie Brown Christmas. We had watched A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and wanted to extend the Charlie Brown goodness to Christmas. However, as we sat and watched it, Chris and I were astonished to watch and listen to how the other children treated Charlie Brown. They continually tell him he doesn't do anything right and calls him names. Not really the model we want our 3 year old learning from.
So, yes, horror of all horrors, we have nixed A Charlie Brown Christmas from our Christmas viewing list. And, yes, it caused a sort of "commotion" on FaceBook but since we are the ones raising (read: responsible for) Elianna, it's nixed! And I stick my tongue out at them! How's that for a great model? Just kidding! (Sorta)
