She learned Stop, Drop, (cover your face) and Roll. Crawl low under smoke. Where our safe place is. And then... they got to meet real live firefighters and visit the firehouse!!! It was pretty cool! Plus the museum it was held at is pretty interesting and that's saying a lot for someone who isn't fond of museums.
Her teacher, Sarah, was so good with the kids and very patient. There was one little boy who insisted on being called Firefighter Joe (his real name was Lucius) and told stories and answered every question and talked and talked and talked. Sarah was very gracious and kind with him although we all were exasperated with him each and every week.
The trip to the firehouse was pretty cool! Towards the end they got a call and rushed out of there to the amazement of all the kids! Thankfully before the firefighters got the call, the kiddos got to spray the fire hose! Total coolness!!
It was seriously the best $30 we've spent in awhile (it's been awhile since my last massage). All of those things are important and yet somehow I have never thought to teach them to Elianna. I am very glad to have such a class offered to help remind parents.
