Kitchen Progress

Well after 6 months of waiting, our kitchen is just about complete!! Praise God!!! The cabinets are all in, the electrician comes today, the countertop guys come tomorrow to measure and make a template, and the plumber will be here next week. So "just about complete" still has a long way to go . . . but that's ok because the end is in sight!

We should have learned from remodeling our last house, but for some reason I did not take BEFORE pictures to show you. However, as soon as my camera batteries finish charging, I will take some pictures of the "just about complete" kitchen (as long as there are no working men in there) and post them.

These are the way cool pendent lights I found this afternoon - the lampshade matches the walls almost exactly! Exciting!

The floor came out awesome!

Last 2 Weeks in Review

For the last 2 weeks we had our VBS "God's Big Backyard." The children (PreK-5th grade) is at the church while the teens (6th-8th grade) is out at our farm property. Naturally, Chris and I are out at the farm property with the teens. The 2nd Wednesday we had an all-time high of 100 teens!! We had 8 professions of faith out at the farm during the 2 weeks also! Praise the Lord for 2 long but great weeks of VBS!

Friday my Sissy and Bro-in-law along with the kiddos came to visit. On Saturday the boys went to a Yankess game while Sissy, K, Little Man and I hung out at home. The Yankees game went to 12 innings and they ended up winning! Here are some pictures of the boys at the game.

Sunday after church we went out to eat and then went to see Toree. C gave Toree some mini roses while her Daddy gave her some sunflowers. It was a very sweet time! Here is a picture of Caleb giving Toree her flowers as well as a picture of the cousins.

Happy 4th of July!

Hope everyone's July 4th was fun and relaxing! Chris and I slept in and then worked on the house a little. We then went to a bar-b-q for all the deacons and pastors. While there Chris played cornhole. Couple of things about cornhole: 1. Chris loves to play this game 2. He has actually made a couple of the boards 3. He wanted me to post the link to watch the cornhole song on you tube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Io8X4pz_QJ0) 4. He said that cornhole is the fastest growing backyard sport in America. It takes some practice - I didn't do so well when I played it for the 1st time today. Chris did well when he and Pastor Walker teamed up and played. While at the picnic I played bocce ball - also for the 1st time. It was very enjoyable. Sorry no song to watch about bocce ball. :)

Hamilton's fireworks were last night - that way they don't have to pay overtime for the holiday work. They were pretty good - actually I didn't really watch them. We were sitting with some teens and the trees were sorta blocking our view so all in all I missed most of them. Oh well.

Next week begins our 2 weeks of VBS. This year we will again have the go-karts and new this year we will have a large slip-and-slide since our theme is "God's Big Backyard." Tomorrow Chris is going out to test the slip-and-slide and the go-karts. :) Not sure what the Little Man and I will do - maybe play in his little pool. Enjoy the long weekend!

Happy Stars & Stripes Day!
