PW Book Signing

A few weeks ago The Pioneer Woman came to Denver for a book signing. And when I say Denver I mean Littleton. 40 minutes away from downtown Denver. Not close to our house. Chris was supportive of making the trip with Elianna and I to get my one cookbook signed. The book signing started at 4 pm. We left our house a little before 3 pm because my Chris had to work. We got to the book signing and was handed the number of 500.

After a bit of waiting and standing around with apparently 500 other people in a small confined space with no air movement, The Pioneer Woman got up and read a poorly put together slide show.  Most of what she read said, is from her blog so it was pretty much common knowledge. Upon the conclusion of the talk, the signing part started.

Around 5:30 pm we left to go grab some dinner and come back since they were on numbers 1-30 . . . still. We ate dinner and came back to find out they were on numbers like 50-100. The line pretty much had not moved at all. It could partially be because there were people taking 10+ books up at once for her to sign. We also found out that the store had been handing out numbers since the beginning of the week. This small fact was not advertised so those of us who actually live around downtown Denver were not made aware of this fact. It was all so disappointing.

We left around 7:30 pm even though the store decided to put the new Muppets movie in on a big screen. So I still have her cookbook and it works just the same with or without a little pen ink on the front cover.

I decided to be a follower and take a picture with my cell phone.
