VBS - Week 1 Review

The first week of VBS is officially over!! The first week was definately an interesting week. To start, we have go-karts out at VBS Farm this year. There are 4. Two of them are little things that are light and bouncy (but are AWESOME in the mud!). The third one is a little bit bigger but the fourth is the best. It is a big green one and is heavy and probably the safest. The deal with the teens is that they can drive the go-kart but a leader has to be with them. Let's just say the teens don't know how to drive. They are wild. That said - on Tuesday, one of the leaders was riding with a teen in the one of the little go-karts when the teen decided to push both the gas and the brake at the same time. She flipped the go-kart on its side. No one was hurt. Fast forward to Thursday night. The same leader was riding, again in one of the small go-karts, when another teen pushed both the gas and the brake at the same time. This time it flipped side, top, side. In the middle of all the flipping it hit the leader's arm. We all, including the emergency room doctor, thought it was broken. Thankfully, it was just bruised. The rules have become intensely strict on the go-kart track since then.

Thursday night we also saw 8 teens come to trust Christ as their Savior. A wonderful end to a scary beginning of the night.

Saturday Chris and I went to Hurricane Harbor (the water park at 6 Flags) with two girls from youth group. We had such fun! Chris and Danielle played in the kiddie part of the park for about 30 minutes. They were enjoying themselves as they dumped a trough full of water onto unsuspecting people walking by. Chris, of course, tanned up nicely while I, of course, have a nice sun burn. After we got home, we sat around the rest of the day resting. It was wonderful! Now we have one more week of VBS then onto vacation!

Sorry there are no pictures this time - we will definately post lots after we get back from vacation! Have a wonderful week everyone!
