Small Fry Update

Yesterday (Thursday) we went and had our next ultrasound done to see Small Fry. The high-risk doctor says everything looks great! Praise the Lord! I was very nervous about going today and then we had to wait in the waiting room for 1 hour before seeing him. That didn't help! They also looked to see if it is a boy or a girl. As you will tell from the pictures, Small Fry either had their legs crossed or their hands between their knees making it virtually impossible to tell. Sooo, we will go back in 4 weeks and hopefully he/she will cooperate then.

PS: They are 80% sure it is a girl but are not willing to say for sure. The doctor told me to not go out shopping . . . so we will just wait.

Awesome picture!

And to think some believe this all happens "by chance" - ha!

Harley and the vet

The other day Harley had to go to the vet to get the last of his puppy shots and his heartworm medicine. Normally I try to avoid going on a day when I also have the Little Man because Harley is so strong and pulls me everywhere without having to worry about balancing myself and the Little Man. However, on this day the Little Man was with me. So, I tried to plan exactly what I would do and how it would all go down. Go down it went . . .

First I loaded everyone up in the car. The Little Man in the back in his car seat and Harley on his "car blanket" in the front seat so that he would not bug the Little Man. I figured I would put the Little Man in his stroller and Harley would be on his leash but who to get out of the car first?? Well, Harley made that choice easy for me - he pretty much jumped out when I got out. Thankfully I had put his leash on him because he immediately took off trying to drag me everywhere. It was quite the time trying to hold on to him and, at the same time, open the trunk, get the stroller out, open the stroller, try and get the Little Man out of his car seat, put the Little Man in the stroller all without getting dragged away by Harley. Mission #1 accomplished.

Now to get into the office. I forgot that there were 2 steps up into the doctor's office. Yeah . . . thankfully some stranger man who had just dropped off his cat was coming out the door as I was trying to keep Harley reigned in and get the stroller up 2 stairs (oh and yeah, I am 15 weeks pregnant with a high-risk pregnancy - nice thinking Lisa). The stranger man asked could he help me and which should he take the dog or the kid? I said the dog. So in Harley went with the stranger man (he obviously has not learned to not "talk" to strangers yet) who handed Harley off to the vet doctor. All of this while I continue to struggle getting the stroller up the stairs. So stranger man comes back out and helps me up the stairs with the stroller (I was way past not talking to strangers!). Mission #2 accomplished.

So anyway, it was nice to have the Little Man confined to his stroller since Harley, as usual, is wild in the vet's office. He weighs 45 pounds at 4 1/2 months! He has lost 6 teeth (I have 2 more but will refrain from posting pictures of them for those of you who thought the first 2 teeth pictures were "gross.") We also had to discuss when Harley is eligible to "be taken care of" if you know what I mean. He can go in April. No April's Fool joke there. Snip snip.

Now we have to get out of the place. Out goes Harley dragging the vet assistant out the door with the vet doctor helping me out the door with the stroller. Apologies, apologies Mrs. Vet Doctor. Never ever will I bring the kid with me and Harley's Daddy will be bringing him to the vet from now on!

Snow Camp 2009

This year for Snow Camp we went to Stroudsburg, Pa. Yes, we had no snow for Snow Camp but that was more than ok with me. Normally when we go to Snow Camp someone else is in charge and our group just attends. However, this year Chris was in charge of Snow Camp. This makes for very stressful times not only during the weekend but also the week leading up to Snow Camp. We were up many late nights trying to get everything together and making sure everything was correct. Ahh! So we started out the weekend tired!

Friday night we did not do too much - ate a "snack" and attended Session #1. This year's theme was on friends and making sure they are in the right order in your life (God, Family and then Friends). The first night I went to bed about 12 am and around 3:30 am, I was awakened by a group across the hall and a group upstairs from my room. I kindly went and told both to turn their light off and go to sleep. The group across the hall did so - the group upstairs . . . nope. I trugged once again up the stairs and this time (firmly) they must turn their light off. Guess they did but then again I wouldn't know because I fell back into bed.

Saturday was a small group session and a Session #2 at night. In between was breakfast, lunch, games and free time. That night I went to bed around 12 am but this time didn't hear anyone - even when my girls came into our room! Yay!

Sunday we had our last session and then we came home. As usual there was the typical drama but no one was seriously hurt nor did anyone end up going to the hospital. Praise God!

The teens have said that they learned much from the weekend and had an enjoyable time (even without snow)! We only pray that their decisions will not just take them into next week but a life style.
