Advent Wreath
We are doing our Advent Wreath during our Bible study this year. The 3 teen neighbors who were there had no idea what Advent was or that there was a wreath involved. It's a great opportunity to introduce them to an important part of Christmas - the spirit of waiting for the coming Christ.
Seeing as it was during "church" I failed to take a picture. Next week, I'll try to sneak a picture.
Elves
We are once again doing 4 houses this year: 1) neighbor down the street (Mike & Katie), 2) Jason (lives in our neighborhood), 3) Ernest, Stephanie & kids (live down and across the neighborhood, and 4) friends Jeremy & Beth who live in Aurora.
Our hardest delivery is definitely Mike & Katie, our neighbors down the street. Their next door neighbor is the neighborhood watch on steroids! He will follow anyone he sees that looks the least suspicious. It's tough but Chris said he slipped past and Ricky didn't see him. Success!
Sadly, I didn't get any pictures of our first present. This year is a bit rushed due to finishing Bible study, not wanting to appear to rush anyone from the Bible study out of the house, but yet get changed and out of the house at a decent hour since all the people have small children. It's a tough one!
Elf #1 gift was Twizzlers with the note "Twizz the season to be jolly". We have no idea if anyone got them or what they thought because we are not friends with 3 out of the 4 on FaceBook which is how we gage if people got them or not in the past. The 1 family we are friends with on FaceBook were not home last night and they may or may not know it's us. Kinda makes it disappointing because that's part of the fun. However, we do have some twists scheduled to add to the fun!
