Happy "Balentines" Day! The call to sleep in bed this morning was too great so my Chris did not get waffles in the shape of hearts this morning. He will, however, get the pleasure of eating brownies (with caramel sauce on top) in the shape of a heart tonight for dinner (after he has worked out - oh well). That is, if I get to the grocery store today and buy the brownie mix - in between packing!!Last night at youth group we played "Candy Heart Charades" with the help of valentines candy hearts. It was funny to hear the kids guessing - they kept forgetting that there is only 1 to 2 words on a candy heart. "Won't you be my valentine?" probably won't fit on a candy heart . . but good try!
There is also some of the dumbest sayings on them - "fax me", "email" . . . that is supposed to be romantic??? . . . right. Chris had a video playing before youth group that showed candy hearts with sayings you don't want to get on valentine's day - "bad hair", "try soap", "gag me with a spoon" . . . etc. The kids thought they were funny. They also enjoyed eating the candy hearts passed out to them - that's right sugar them up right before they go home! That's payback for the . . . "you all need to be quieter out here" . . . "everyone else is trying to sleep" . . . "it's 1:30 am" . . . "you all have to be in your rooms by 2 am" . . . "EVERYONE GO TO YOUR ROOMS!!!"
