Rocky Mountain National Park

While Mom was here in addition to putting together and having a birthday party and going 4 places on our Day of Fun, we also went hiking at Rocky Mountain National Park. We kept her busy while she was here!

The path we initially wanted to hike was closed so we instead took a shorter path that essentially didn't lead to anything specific. We just hiked for awhile and then stopped in the woods and ate lunch. Eating lunch in the woods is so much fun and beautiful!

Elianna's toe friend (aka: Keeping her busy on the trip to RMNP)

Elianna walked for about 1 mile on her own and did a great job!! She is getting way to big to carry in the hiking back pack.

After our hike, we took the Trail Ridge Road and Old Fall River Road. Trail Ridge Road is described this way: "Eleven miles of this high highway travel above treeline, the elevation near 11,500 feet where the park's evergreen forests come to a halt." Did you catch that? Above the treeline. Like at the tip top of a mountain. Did I mention Mom and I are scared to death aren't fond of heights. The road also had no guard rails. That high up. It was crazy scary! Crazy! It was also beautiful! Very beautiful! And scary!

Elianna was exhausted and fell asleep during the long scary drive

We didn't realize the hike to the highest point was going to be so far. It was also super cold so Chris carried Elianna in his shirt.

We saw this Elk on the way out of the park
