A few weeks ago Chris asked Elianna to go out on a date with him. She, of course, said yes! She even got to choose where they would go to eat. I gave her 5 choices and she chose Panera which was not at all what I thought she would choose.
Before her date, we painted her finger and toe nails, I curled her hair and she got dressed in a cute little dress. It was so sweet to see her all kinds of excited about her date.
During their date, they took some time to take pictures and add cute graphics and such to them.
We celebrated St. Patrick's Day a day early and, well, a little on the "actual" St. Patrick's Day. Sunday morning (and truthfully Monday morning) brought with it {knockoff} Lucky Charms with green milk. No matter what people say {I'm looking at you Sissy}, it is delicious!
Chris made a delicious St. Patrick's Day lunch of stuffed pork with feta cheese, spinach and mushrooms; asparagus; and onion rings. Definitely worth the wait!
Since it was the last week of our women's Bible study and since we were talking about our health (haha!) and since it was St. Patrick's Day weekend, it definitely called for Shamrock Shakes! After Bible study, a couple of families stayed for dinner. One of the dads brought pizza with him - yay! And then, because the dads and kids didn't have Shamrock Shakes, we had more! Double yay!
After dinner, we watched a Veggie Tales on St. Patrick's Day and the reasoning behind celebrating it - especially as a believer. I wish I would have had this a few days ago when Elianna asked me why we celebrated St. Patrick's Day and I said I had no idea other than 1) it's fun 2) green is cool and 3) I've got an Irish temper Irish blood. Not to mention Shamrock Shakes, of course!

A week ago today marked our 9 year anniversary. We started the day off by attending Elianna's morning recitation at school. Elianna invited her best friend, Dani and her family to come and watch. They were so gracious to get up early and fight the morning work traffic to come watch her.
After recitation, as is our tradition, both for after recitation and apparently anniversary breakfast (we went to VI last year too), we headed to the Village Inn for some good old fashioned eggs, bacon and hash browns. Seeing as it was Wednesday, we added a piece of free pie - to be eaten later of course.
After errands, which included fighting the crowds at the new Trader Joes, we dropped Elianna back off for school and headed home. Chris had big plans of renewing his CDL license at the DMV while I did nothing. Yes, you read that right - nothing. And it was nice.
Oh but our day did not end there. I headed back over to pick Elianna up from school and was greeted with a bad attitude which almost turned into Chris and I canceling our anniversary dinner plans. I'm not sure if it was the early morning and the running around before school, but a certain little girl was grumpy! Let's just say there was hysterical crying, screaming and yelling of "NO!" at me the whole way across the school yard, across the parking lot, and most of the way home in the car. Fun times as a parent! Needless to say, after a consequence and a discussion with the Papi Man, she was ready to face the world with a better attitude.
For dinner, Chris and I quick grabbed a Groupon and headed to the Wash Park Grille. It was very delicious and definitely a step up from our "norm". We began by sharing a Caesar Salad - I know, romance at its finest, huh? I had a chili coffee rubbed beef tenderloin with duck bacon, kale, balsamic roared Brussels sprouts; topped with corn, heirloom cherry tomato and gorgonzola. Doesn't that just sound marvelous? It was! Chris got the Chef's special catch of the day which was some type of salmon with heirloom tomatoes and a sauce overtop with asparagus. Can you tell I got the first description off Wash Park's website while I simply made up what Chris had? Those people who make up food descriptions are good! When it came time for dessert, we opted to simply eat our free piece of VI pie. Can't go wrong with free pie!
All in all it was a good anniversary and I am blessed to have spent the last 9 years with my Chris as we stumble through this crazy thing called life together. I love you, my Chris!
Well I am pleased to tell you that Billy Graham's people sent a sweet note and a picture for Elianna. The letter simply stated that Billy had asked them to write on his behalf since he is not able to. They also mentioned how sweet it is to hear that Elianna prays for him and advises her friends to do the same. He is apparently doing as well as expected and prays for the ministry and loves to hear updates.
Elianna was so super excited to get a letter and, of course, undoubtedly, the picture. We just have to find a frame so she can put the picture in her room.
