3 Days in a Row!

Last week Chris had 3 days off in a row! Granted, they were in the middle of the week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) but hey! we'll take them!

Tuesday we rested. It was nice! We were planning on going to a Farmer's Market but when I looked online to find it, the one I was looking for wasn't there or I just couldn't find it. Some kind of operator malfunction. The internet is such a wealth of information except on days when I am actually looking for something specific. And Tuesday was one of those days. By the time I had stopped looking it was lunch time and then nap time. Oh well. Some days, you just need to stop and rest or in Chris' case, work on Sunday's sermon.

Wednesday Elianna and I headed to Story Time where she and a little friend, Marissa, decided that actually listening to the story during Story Time was extremely overrated. They played "tiger" and apparently Elianna was trying to not get eaten by the "tiger" which explains why she was running around screaming while the librarian was reading a story. After they settled down, Elianna began playing with Marissa's hair while they listened. It was super cute but made her look so grown up.

All the while we were at Story Time, Chris took off to do some mountain biking. It's good for him to get away sometimes and do his own thing. In reality, he isn't quite as fond to sit with the other moms and listen to a story about a bat who lives at the library. Can't say I blame him I suppose.

Wednesday night was our big family event. We all and when I say all I mean Harley too, slept in a 2 man tent out in our backyard. It was cozy. I don't remember doing such a thing before so it was all new to me. It wasn't as bad as I had envisioned, although I did ask Chris to move the tent once since I was apparently sleeping on some kind of tree root. Not that comfortable. We ate popcorn and drank hot chocolate before threatening Elianna that we would go back in the house to sleep for the night if she didn't calm down and go to sleep. Inside I was secretly cheering her hyperness on with the hopes of sleeping in my big soft bed. Around 11pm or so, she feel asleep. We had slept with the tent screen open so by the time morning came, it was super cold in our little tent. Even after shutting the door and snuggling way down in our sleeping bags, it was still cold. Needless to say, Elianna wound up back in bed at 8am and slept until 11:30am.

I'm not too sure what is up with her eye (or her hair for that matter).  I think it's a spot on the lens of my high tech ~phone~ camera.  Although that only accounts for her eye not her hair.

Throwing popcorn into her mouth

Thursday afternoon we headed up to Chris' cousins house to eat lunch and swim in the community pool. They have a regular size regular depth pool but they also have this small pool which is super shallow. Elianna was able to swim by herself in the kiddie pool most of the time. She loved it! So much! Occasionally she ran across to the big pool to swim with Cameron and Kylie but for the most part she played in the little pool. I was able to sit and burn get some sun while Chris worked on his sermon for Sunday. After 2 hours, we were all exhausted and went home to eat dinner and then pretty much all fall into bed.

I love having so many days off in a row with Chris, but it sure makes it hard to get back into the swing of things which I guess explains why nothing got done in the house or posted on the blog last week. Even though Chris has off today, we are still planning on getting things back to normal. But I guess that requires me to get off the computer and up off the couch.  Back to reality!

Bad idea: running a red light with a cop waiting at the light to turn. Good idea: just going ahead and pulling over. Btw: it wasn't me. :)

Just had needles stuck in my foot. Ouch!!! Hoping it helps to relive some of the pain so I can get back to running.

Injured

Since moving out here to CO, I have realized that "the thing" to do here is run. Running has never been my thing, but I have begun to embrace the challenge. Just when I think it's going pretty good, I get my very first running injury. Thankfully we have 2 physical therapists in our church. Last night I saw both of them.

Oh, just so you know what we are dealing with here. It's something with my foot.  It hurts so terribly bad where I end up limping. I have no idea what exactly it is to be truthful.

My first "visit" was to Becca's house where she massaged and poked and prodded my foot and leg. She doesn't believe it to be a stress fracture which is a good thing. She also recommended that I go check in with physical therapist #2.

So Elianna and I headed over to Praise Band practice to see Jeremy, physical therapist #2. After practice, we all headed over to his house where he stuck needles deep into my foot. Oh the pain! The initial pain was the shock from a teeny needle being poked into my foot. The secondary pain was the most painful because after the needle was in my foot, he had to push it past all the "padding" (I'm sure there is a technical name) that's on the bottom of your foot straight into the muscle. Oh no - it didn't end there.  Once the needle was in my foot muscle, he jiggled it up and down and all around.  And as if that wasn't enough, he pulled and pushed and poked at my leg and foot.

Needless to say I am sure hoping that it worked because I don't want to go back for more needles. Yikes!

Did we have a boring week here on the home front? Why yes we did. How could you tell? Oh, the talk about feet and needles gave you the first clue. Clever Watson. Very clever. Here's to better feeling feet and more exciting things to talk about soon!  Pictures of Elianna also make up for the super boring talk - of that I am sure!
