Thanksgiving 2011

Did I ever tell ya'll how we spent our Thanksgiving? No? Well good thing you stopped by almost a month later so I could tell you all about it. A little behind? Me? What made you think that?

Chris, Elianna, Grandmother, Harley and I squeezed into my little car and made the trip down to Chris' brother's house in WV. We always enjoy going down to visit. Except this time we took Harley with us. He had never met Mark and Rhonda's two little yappy barky dogs (auto correct kept wanting me to say happy barmy dogs. Umm... ok whatever). My big black 95 pound black lab boy dog was scared of those two little loud Jack Russell/ Chihahua mix dogs (side note #2: had to totally look up how to spell Chihahua. Not an easy word to type.).

Grandmother enjoyed her time talking with Rhonda's parents, Francis and Judy. They reminisced and swapped stories. For dinner we had a non-traditional dinner of crab cakes, ham, carrot/squash soufle, green bean casserole (guess that's somewhat traditional), and stuffing (also traditional). Ok so I guess it was a 1/2 non-traditional 1/2 traditional dinner. Albeit 1/2 non-traditional, it was delicious!

We weren't able to stay but one night down there since we had to go back and pack up our stuff to have it ready to pack it up and move it out. I know you are tired of my moving talk, but when it has been your life for months, you got nothing else.

Grandmother on the other hand can now talk about her ride in Mark's convertible on the way out of town.

You go GG!

Happy Anniversary!

Today is Dad and Mom's 44th wedding anniversary (I had the date wrong earlier). Although I know it is a hard day for Mom, I did want to say a very special Happy Anniversary to my wonderful parents.

This picture was taken right before he found out he was sick. It's how I like to remember him.
I miss you Daddy!

The End

Ok so I am going to officially be done with our trip down South and back. You remember? The one, oh last month. Time flies when you are having fun moving cross country. Mostly it is just cute and funny pictures of Elianna which are pretty much self explanatory. Although I must interject now that I am actually uploading the pictures - there are some that require explanation. I will be quiet now and let you view in peace.

Bass Pro Shops

I think this picture was actually taken while Elianna was supposed to be getting her beauty rest in preparation for the wedding. She pulled all of the tissues out of the tissue box deal located on the side of the sink at hotels. Nice...

Halloween 2011

We spent 2 days with my aunt and uncle in Atlanta GA. We saw this guy walking down the street. I am not exactly sure 1) what he is wearing and 2) why he was wearing it. Nope, it wasn't even Halloween. Just Atlanta I guess.

We also ate at The Varsity for lunch one day. It's where you eat in Atlanta along with approximately 3,000 school children. Apparently there were 6,000 school kids in some stadium in downtown Atlanta for something or another. About 1/2 of them decided to eat lunch at The Varsity. Maybe it was the day and the fact that the workers were probably exhausted from so many younglets, but the food was not good at all. Dried burnt hamburger on a bun. No nothing else on it. Disappointment at its finest.

Underground Atlanta. Another disappointment. Not at all how I remember Underground. Maybe we just grow up and our expectations change. Elianna enjoyed the ice cream truck ride. Wahooo!

Enjoying the country and its transportation modes with friends in NC

Elianna's favorite on the trip was Tick Tacks otherwise known as Ticky Tackys. We each had to have one and then we all had to show the others our Ticky Tackys by holding it tightly in our teeth. At least we were guaranteed good breath.

Special Ops Museum

Way back last month while we were in Fort Bragg NC, we visited the Special Ops Museum. The museum had the normal blah blah stuff to read (sorry to those of you who actually enjoy reading those plaques), but had a ton of wax figures. This is more my style. Visual learner here. Elianna enjoyed the visual learning too.

Visual learning at its best
