Last Night!

Tonight is the last night of Youth Group for the Summer! While I do miss "seeing" the teens during the Summer, it is also nice to have a calm Wednesday-day and also sit in "big church" for Wednesday Worship. To kickoff the end, we are having a cookout at our house after service.
A big thought just hit me: Why oh why if we are having hamburgers after service did I put pork chops in the crock pot to eat before service???

It seems very hard to believe that the Summer is here already! BIG CHEER FOR THE WARM WEATHER!!!

Big Night Out

Last night 6 of us "non-teen" girls went out for a "big night out." We went first to TGI Friday's for dinner. I got the Chipolte Steak Sandwich which is just about the yummiest sandwich at Fridays (try it - you'll see). After sharing our desserts (Brownie Obsession) we left for The FunPlex. Everyone always says is The FunPlex fun?? Duh, what do you think? They just thought they would put FUN in the name and not make it FUN??? Anyway . . . with there being 6 of us it was quite difficult to all fit in the photo both but we tried and almost succeeded. We rode the go-karts, bumper cars, played laser tag, went on the freefall, drove the outside go-karts, got dizzy on the tilt-a-whirl, and "played" (or cheated depending on who you ask) mini golf. It was alot of fun! We were out until 11pm and then we were going to go midnight bowling but opted to go to a diner and eat cheesy fries at midnight.

We are planning on doing more stuff as a "little group" but I need some ideas as to activities (economical also) that we can do. Open to any and all ideas. :)

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day yesterday! I had a great first Mother's Day! My Chris came downstairs with a gift bag and said that Toree had asked him to give the gift to me for Mother's Day. Inside was 2 cards, again, "from Toree" - they were really cute and sweet! Also inside the bag was a picture frame that said "Cherish" at the top with a small heart on the bottom. In the frame was a picture of Toree. Also from Toree was a Willow Tree figurine called "Remember." Below is a picture of the figurine.

For lunch we went to TGI Fridays and then went to visit Toree's grave. (Side note: We hope this week to go and order her headstone.)
Then last night at church "Little Man" gave me a gift and a card. The card said "Thank you for taking such great care of me." How cute! He also gave me a Willow Tree figurine. This one is "Angel of Prayer." Below is a picture of that figurine.

It was a special day! Thank you Victoria for your gifts - they are super special to me. I love you too Sweetheart!

Girl's Overnighter

This last Friday night was the Youth Group Girl's Overnighter. This year, the daughter of a friend of mine, Linda, came and shared with us what was called The Secret Spa in Your Kitchen. It involved using simple items found in your kitchen to make items like face scrubs, cleansers, bath soaks and other ideas. The girls seemed to really enjoy themselves and some who are even "non-girlie" couldn't get over how nice and soft their hands were. We also made a jar of bath salts - most girls said they were going to give it to their mom for Mother's Day. Nice - all our moms will smell the same. Ah well. We also played in-the-dark manhunt for about 3 hours. Not sure why but they love to play this more than most anything else. Manhunt is like hide-n-go-seek but in the dark. They run all over the church building and hide in many weird (and sometimes creepy) places. This year two girls put on scary faces and ran around and scared the other girls. Those two had fun, but I don't think the other girls enjoyed that part so much. I fell asleep about 2 am and woke up about 6 am - came home and slept off-and-on for about 45 min. to an hour. I am now feeling the effects and will be going to bed very very shortly. Yawn . . . Snore . . . hrghm . . . Nighty-night.
