Harley's Perch

Harley loves to go and sit on the stairs and press his wet nose up to the window. As he sits there he keeps an eye out for any "intruder" that may come into our side yard. These intruders mainly have 2 feet and feathery wings along with a small beak. Every once in a while there is also a furry little intruder that has a fluffy cotton tail. Whenever our yard is invaded by these intruders, Harley barks and growls at them to make sure they know who is king of the yard. Of course, they don't really hear him because the windows are still closed but he feels like he has control especially when they fly/hop away. What a great guard dog! Hopefully a "real intruder" never comes into our yard because we will simply tune out his barking and growling and only assume that he is keeping out the birds and rabbits.

The Dog Chow Diet

This post is a little different from my "normal" posts but someone sent this story to Chris and we thought it was SO FUNNY that I wanted to share it with you all. Hopefully you get as good as a laugh out of it as we did!

-----------------------------------

Yesterday I was buying 2 large bags of Purina dog chow at Wal-Mart, for my dogs Buddy and Sparky. I was about to check out when a woman behind me asked if I had a dog. What did she think; that I had an elephant?

Since I had little else to do, on impulse, I told her that no, I didn't have a dog, and that I was starting the Purina Diet again, although I probably shouldn't because I ended up in the hospital last time. On the bright side though, I'd lost 50 pounds before I awakened in intensive care with tubes coming out of every hole in my body and IVs in both arms.

I told her that it was essentially a perfect diet and that the way it works is to load your pockets with Purina nuggets and simply eat one or two every time you feel hungry and that the food is nutritionally complete so I was going to try it again. (I have to mention here that practically everyone in the line was enthralled with my story by now.)

Horrified, she asked if I ended up in intensive care because the dog food had poisoned me. I told her no; I had stopped in the middle of the parking lot to lick my butt and a car hit me.

I thought the guy behind her was going to have a heart attack, he was laughing so hard!

WAL-MART won't let me shop there anymore.

What's in a name?

Small Fry has a name! Her name is Elianna Joele.

Elianna means "the Lord has remembered."
Joele means "God is sympathetic."

Before I was even pregnant, I had seen the name Elianna (spelled Elyana) and had mentioned that I liked it to Chris. At the time, he wasn't even thinking names so he didn't comment either way. Well that name has always been in my head but thinking he must not have liked it, I tried to think of other names. Then Saturday night Chris told me he had thought of names and hoped that I liked them because he really did. When he told me the name Elianna, I was so excited! Although he doesn't remember me telling him that name way back when - it is so cool! We both thought of the same name for her! He picked out the middle name, Joele - what a great choice too! So we now have Victoria Michelle and Elianna Joele.
