Sleepover!!!

When we moved to Colorado, there were 3 other little girls that Elianna formed a good friendship with.  Back in July, one of the little girls (along with her family, of course) moved to Africa as missionaries.  We hosted a tea party (post to come later) when Noelle left.  Fast forward to now.  One of the other little girls and her family are moving to Missouri.  Before she leaves, we wanted to host another party for the girls.  This time it was a sleepover.  Technically, Elianna's first official sleepover.

July Tea Party

To say Elianna was excited would be a huge understatement!  For weeks she has been planning and telling me what exactly they were going to do.  She had BIG plans laid out in her head.  To be truthful, I was a bit nervous that all these plans were not going to turn out the way she had envisioned them.  At one point in the night, they were going slightly awry but after some covert maneuvering, the plans were back on track (the other girls wanted to play downstairs while Elianna had envisioned staying in her room all night).

Since it was a Friday night, we had pizza but since no other neighbors or friends came over it was just the girls (mainly).  After pizza they played downstairs where the meltdown began to occur.  I quickly talked to Elianna and we came up with a new game plan:  Play downstairs and clean up for a few more minutes and then it was time to come up for cupcakes.  Pretty much any 6 year old will clean up and come upstairs for a cupcake!  They changed into their jammies and ate their cupcakes.  Then it was on to nail time where I did each of their finger nails with an assortment of colors, sparkles and nail gems.  After they brushed their teeth, they all climbed onto the blow up mattress and watched the new Annie.  Then came the hard part.  Talking them into actually going to sleep.  They really did quite well and part of me was ok with the talking since it was a sleepover after all.  I think they fell asleep around 10:30pm or so.  We did have to make one quick call to Dani's mom as a reassurance but other than that, they were good.

Morning came all to quickly (7am) but they ended up playing in Elianna's room until about 8:30am.  I made blueberry muffins and fresh eggs that I made them go gather from the nesting boxes.  They got dressed, cleaned up their stuff and played until their moms came at 10am.  Angela said Natalie told her that she had an "amazing time."  Success!!
