We had her party on Saturday, September 1 which is the day before her birthday. That morning I got up early and finished up the last couple of things that needed done. While I was decorating in the morning, it became obvious that my one game was going to be a bit ruined. Our backyard backs up to a huge field / park. Apparently, during the fall season, there are football games in that large field. Guess what day was the first day they played back there? Yup! You guessed it. Saturday, September 1. No big deal. We would just move the game to our back yard.
Oh! I gotta share a football story that happened that morning. During halftime of the first game, the coach of the Tigers held his halftime
Elianna now refers to that coach as "the peeing coach". Just what I want her to run around saying. We were gone this last Saturday so we didn't have to face little kids baring themselves in front of my 3 year old. Anyway....
The party went well. While the kids arrived, they colored some Minnie and Mickey Mouse coloring sheets. We then played a game based on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse - Toodles included. Details in another post.

{As I write, it is becoming quite evident that the party details will take more than just 1 more blog post. Brace yourselves for an over the top detailed account of everything.}
The highlight of the party was probably the piñata that Chris built which would not break. Each kid got a go at the piñata. We started with the handle of a broom but it became evident that it was a bit big for them. Uncle Royce ran and grabbed one of Chris's bats - specifically his Louisville Slugger that weighs about 48 ounces. Now we are on the heavy side of swinging items. Our neighbor ran and got a real live piñata stick and let the kids use that. It worked well and good while the little kids all had a crack at the piñata. Once each of the little kids hit it, Chris' cousin's son, Cameron who plays competitive baseball went after the piñata. And broke the piñata stick on it. We went back to the bat but the piñata still would not break. Finally, my friend Andrea's husband, Matt, began beating on it. Finally, after he used it like a hatchet, a small hole broke open. In the end, our neighbor, David, simply ripped open the hole and pulled the candy out for the kids. We specialize in non-breakable piñatas apparently.

Totally for my memory: Our neighbors brought 2 kids with them that I had never seen before in my life. The little boy was a bit pushy and decided that he wanted Toodles and attempted to pull it out of my hands. I had to tell him No it was mine and he needed to back up. He was very in-your-face and aggressive. Definitely a time to show God's love to a kid who evidently needed it - even if he wasn't invited.
We then headed back to the backyard to have cake and ice cream. Chris' sister-in-law, Angela, made the most adorable Minnie Mouse cake!
Elianna passed out the goodie bags to her friends and they all proceeded to break them open and partake in, mainly, the bubbles.

After everyone (finally) left, we had a family dinner and more cake to celebrate Tiffany's birthday (Chris' cousin) and Angela's birthday (Chris' sister-in-law). While we were eating the lasagna, Tiffany got to talking about some kind of lasagna noodles that had confused her. Everyone began throwing out what they thought she was talking about: No-boil, no-bake, etc. Nope. None of them were what she was thinking about. What's the next best thing? Leave the guys with all the kids and all the ladies jump into the car to go to the grocery store to figure it out. We used it as a good excuse to get away and hold a circle conversation in the middle of King Soopers. We didn't find what she was looking for but did find a lasagna noodle name I had never heard of - Weeknight. I guess it's someones fancy name for no-bake noodles.

Elianna got to open some of her gifts - the remainder were opened Sunday night - resulting in a late late night.

After sugar for lunch and sugar for dinner and sugar for a snack, Elianna had a bit of trouble sleeping that night. I would say it was all worth it though! It was a great memory maker and turned out super cute! Can't wait to share all the nitty gritty details!
